Stranger from hell (2019)

A thriller drama following a young man who moves from the countryside to Seoul, experiencing bizarre and unsettling events at his gosiwon (budget dormitory).

OCN is a South Korean premium drama channel that not only specializes in films but also actively produces high-quality original series, primarily in the crime and thriller genres. This unique position, marked by high production quality and a genre-bending narrative style, is comparable to North American networks like FX or AMC.

My Role - Brand Designer

As part of a 4-person creative team, I collaborated on the full campaign from concept to delivery. We analyzed the script, synopsis, and marketing plan together, brainstorming how to amplify the drama's core appeal through visual storytelling while defining mood, concept, storyboards, editing style, and sound direction.

I contributed to pre-production coordination including sourcing directors for teaser and promo shoots, photographers for key art, and designers for posters and logo. During production, I directed on-set shoots for assigned promotional videos, providing real-time creative direction to ensure footage aligned with our vision, and similarly directed key art photo shoots.

While strategic planning was collaborative, each team member owned their assigned videos end-to-end. I led the complete production process for my assigned promos from on-set direction through post-production, including editorial structure, video editing, sound design, CG/VFX integration, and color grading. I also collaborated with poster designers through iterative feedback to refine key art until it met our quality standards.
